Panel wants police to stop arrest of Muslim youth

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh United Muslim Action Committee has urged Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy to direct the police to stop arbitrary arrest of Muslim youth in wake of twin blasts in the City last month.

Led by its convenor Moulana Hameeduddin Aqil Husamiand others submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister listing out instances of youth being harassed by the police.

They wanted the Government to instruct the police to follow the law and directions of the Supreme Court in all casestaken into custody.
