RTC workers to stage protests in front of depots across the State
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation Employees’ Union has called upon the employees and workers to launch united struggle to ensure the survival of the corporation.
Concern expressed
Expressing willingness to join hands with other unions, the Employees’ Union expressed concern over the continuance of steps like contract appointment, hiring of buses and failure of arrest illegal operations by private operators.
The moves were aimed at privatising the corporation, but the majority union had failed to prevent the corporation management in going ahead with its moves.
The State council of the Employees’ Union that met here on Thursday called upon the workers to stage protests in front of depots across the State in support of their demand for release of pending dearness allowance arrears and increase in the festival advance.
Future course
The Union would finalise its future course of action after consulting the like-minded unions of the corporation on September 19, according to a press release.
