New method to detect diamond sites proposed

KURNOOL: M. V. R. Chandrasekhar, retired official of department of Geology and Groundwater, proposed a new approach to detect diamond sites in remote areas. He said the source material, kimberlitic rock, should be detected to stumble upon a huge reservoir of diamonds rather than collecting raw diamonds from pebbles in the riverbeds.

According to Mr. Chandrasekhar, villagers should be educated to detect kimberlitic stones by exposing them to the materials.
