Villagers lock up Tahsildar’s office

Sangareddy: Angry villagers of Malkapur, lead by their Sarpanch Satyamma, locked up the Kondapur mandal Tahsildar’s office on Thursday and broke the furniture.

They were protesting against handing over of 36 guntas of Government land in their village to rich and influential persons without the knowledge of the gram panchayat. The value of the land assigned to outsiders is said to be of the value of Rs. 10 crore due to its proximity to NH-9.
