NEW DELHI: Voila! It’s here at last -- and how! The much-awaited The Hindu Metroplus Lifetsyle show is set to take Delhi by storm. Beginning with a media interaction this Friday, all roads lead to Hall 12 A of Pragati Maidan from September 20 to 23. Everything and anything that’s required for a good and healthy lifestyle will be there. Consumer electronics, automobiles and accessories, beauty and health aids, furniture and furnishings, computer and IT products, personal and corporate gifts, fashion accessories, textiles and jewellery, luxurious home needs and interiors are just some of the categories to look out for. The show is here after successful runs in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, and all that expertise has been used to give Delhities now the best deal available. Which means there’s more variety, bigger brands and lots of excitement that await the visitors at the air-conditioned venue. Samsung, the title sponsor, is set to showcase its latest Bordeux collection of LCD television sets along with other high-end electronic appliances. Apart from a big range of dishwashers and built-in appliances for kitchen, Siemens will be there to unveil its new 8-kg front-loading washing machine, which assures the removal of 14 different stains. Vipul Raval, Managing Director, Home appliances, is very upbeat about participating in this show: “We aim to capitalise on the changing lifestyles of people, and shows like this help connect with the customers. All our products are very environmental-friendly, as they consume less water, less power, and less time while being high on performance.” The co-sponsors have some interesting and unique products to offer as well. General Motors will display its Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Optra diesel version; iRest will showcase its massage chairs; Fitline with elliptical cross trainer and treadmills; and 24 carat gold-plated foil and exclusive gift items from Kesar Gift Mart. If wearing Khadi is your style statement, check out the stall by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission which will stock all its products. The famous phulkari work from Patiala, Punjab and embroidery work from Pakistan will cater to the desire of women. If you still need more reasons to be there, trademark artificial flowers, ruby and seashell jewellery from Thailand and gigantic onyx vases from Pakistan are worth every bit of your time. For those who didn’t know this earlier, only those with a moustache will be allowed entry. Not literally, though! Bru, the beverage partner, will provide each visitor with a frothy and creamy ice cappuccino as a welcome drink right at the entrance and the magic moustache that one gets after drinking it will be your entry pass for the show. “With coffee culture catching up in North, we want to bring in different variants of coffee into the market aimed at the youngsters. We thought it would be nice to do something different to promote our product at the show,” says Krishnan Sundaram, marketing manger of BRU, Unilever. Classic Polo and Prime houseware are the other co-sponsors for the event. While NDTV 24X7 and Radio City are the media partners, Taj Palace Hotel is the hospitality partner. Be there to cash in on the fun and fiesta.
