Tension in village over book on Rama

Nashik: Bajrang Dal activists on Sunday demolished part of a library which had a book allegedly containing controversial remarks about Lord Ram, prompting police to fire in the air.

The incident created tension in the area. Security at Mamdapur was later strengthened, police said.

The book in question is Ramayanatil Satya. Police fired some rounds in the air to disperse the mob and impounded the book. Superintendent of Police Nikhil Gupta rushed to the spot. — PTI
