Railways, take note

As regards the opening of newly converted railway line between Nuapada and Gunupur, the Railway authorities should open the traffic in the route of Nuapada and Gunupur. Also the railways can consider to ply new express and passenger trains between Parlakhimidi and Bhubaneswar besides, introducing passenger trains between Nuapada and Gunupur and the passenger trains running between Palasa and Bhubaneswar, and Bhubaneshwar and Puri can be extended up to Parlakhimidi.

Wear uniforms

The SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack is the biggest government hospital in the State where uniforms have been provided to the staff. But it was noticed that the staff including the doctors were not wearing uniforms during duty hours, deliberately .

Thus it become difficult for the patients or their attendants to identify the staff. This violation indirectly help the brokers to pose themselves as specialists who usually advice innocent patients to go to a private nursing home. To avoid such unhealthy trend, the staff should wear uniforms and display their identity cards.

Unfortunate incident

Once again the name of Lord Ram is widely being used by every other political party. After Ram temple in Ayodhya now it’s the turn of Rama Sethu and parties are playing their cards in the name of Lord Rama. But most astonishing thing is in the Central Government affidavit, which they submitted in the Supreme Court, stated that no Rama or his kingdom existed on the earth.

Lord Rama is a holy character and worshipped by the people and the statement of His existence in the history is unfortunate, regrettable and condemnable.

Though the Central Government had deleted it from the affidavit by producing supplementary affidavit but the way the rama Sethu issue was handled would send a wrong signal across the world.

A bad example

Though the Academic Council of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) decided to review the year-back-system through a committee, the demand of engineering students to lift the system seems to me as highly irrational and illogical.

Why a system should be changed for a handful of students who emphasise on off-campus activities more than their studies. At the year-end, they might again demand that they should be promoted to higher class.

These students are certainly leaving behind bad examples for the future generation. If they are not handled stringently, they might ruin the

quality education in Orissa.
