CHENNAI: The Centre is conducting a study to simplify the rules and limitations of the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) and to consider converting all government hospitals into ESI hospitals.
Addressing members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), ESI Joint Director A.S. Meeran said the KK Nagar hospital was well maintained and discussions were under way to consider converting all government hospitals into ESI hospitals.
“Poor maintenance”
About 35 members from small, medium and large industries participated in the meet and voiced concerns about the poor maintenance of ESI hospitals.
They wanted steps to spruce up dispensary facilities and simplification of rules and procedures.
Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Grade-1 K. Srinivasan cleared the doubts related to Provident Fund.
