Chandigarh: In a reprieve for the embattled Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Monday stayed his arrest till October 4 in two separate cases of murder and rape. Justice L. N. Mittal issued the order on an anticipatory bail plea moved by the head of the Sirsa-based sect, who had been accused by the CBI of two murders – of Dera manager Ranjit Singh and scribe Ram Chander Chattarapati -- besides rape of a disciple. The Court also directed him to appear before the trial court at Ambala in Haryana for seeking regular bail. – PTI
