HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced a one-year moratorium on repayment of loans taken from money-lenders by people from the State now working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Many of these expatriates had availed loans from private money lenders to pay for their plane fare to the Gulf and other formalities associated with employment.
The moratorium was part of a package approved by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy while reviewing their problems here on Monday. The measure is aimed at proper rehabilitation of the expatriates upon their return here by freeing them from financial burden.
