Kochi: The Kochi Corporation will spend Rs.17.96 crore for various projects that are to be implemented next year under the People’s Plan Programme. Of this, the infrastructure development and service sector will get the maximum allocation. These segments will get 40 per cent each of the total annual allocation. These proposals were passed at the council meeting held on Monday. The transport sector will get Rs.2.60 crore, social welfare sector Rs.2 crore and poverty alleviation Rs.1.87 crore. The solid waste treatment sector will get Rs.2.24 crore. The Corporation will shell out Rs.20 lakh as subsidy for the individuals who set up biogas plants.
