DK plans agitation

CHENNAI: The Dravidar Kazhagam on Sunday announced it would hold demonstrations throughout the State on September 19 and 20 to protest against the withdrawal of the Centre’s affidavit in the Supreme Court on the Sethusamudram project issue. In a statement, DK president K. Veeramani said, “The withdrawal of the affidavit based on scientific facts shows that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government is not firm in its ideology. We will stage demonstrations opposing the change of alignment and demanding revocation of suspension of two officials.” — Special Correspondent
