HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad polo season, scheduled to be held from October 3 to 12, will attract the crowds this year and better teams in the future, said Lt. Gen. Sudhir Sharma, Quarter Master General and Army Chief Steward, Indian Polo Association. During a press conference here recently, he said the upgraded Bison Polo Ground in Secunderabad could now stage eight and 12 goal tournaments. Added cause for his optimism was the prize money of Rs. one lakh and Rs. 75,000 that was bound to attract the professionals. He expressed gratitude to Canara Bank and the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, main sponsors of the event. On the sidelines of the Military World Games, the Charminar Challenge polo cup will be held on October 18. — Special Correspondent
