dated September 19, 1957: Peace in Naga Hills

Mrs. Phizo, wife of the absconding Naga rebel leader, Phizo, had two formal interviews with the Assam Governor, Mr. Fazl Ali, in Shillong on September 17. After the interview, Mrs. Phizo told pressmen that she was anxious to see quick restoration of peaceful conditions in trouble-torn Naga Hills. She said she would not stand in the way of an honourable settlement of the Naga question.
