BERHAMPUR: Although not an employee, a person was working at the Berhampur University without any pay since last 15 years. University Vice-Chancellor Bijay Sahu recently identified the person, who had become part of the campus. The Vice-Chancellor found him during a surprise visit of the central store house of the university. When he checked the attendance register meant for the employees of the section, he did not find the name of the person whose presence had become synonymous with the central stores house. He was identified as Bijay Kumar Muni, a resident of Gandhinagar area of the city. Initial investigation proved that Muni had no relationship with the university. Yet, just like any other employee he was visiting the campus daily to spend his time at the central store house. He had never asked for any salary. But the Vice-Chancellor directed the Registrar to investigate whether he was there with some ulterior intention or not. Long ago, he was employed as a casual help for some days to stamp documents at the store house. After printed forms came into use, this work was no more needed. But, Muni continued to visit the campus.
