Panchayat staff to be trained in maintenance of accounts

PUDUKOTTAI: Guidance programmes to create awareness among panchayat presidents, panchayat staff and ‘makkal nala paniyalargal’ on maintenance of accounts of panchayats as per new guidelines of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats will be held in the district on September 19 and 20.
A press release of Collector S. J. Chiru, issued here on Tuesday, said that the meeting on September 19 morning will be held at Tirumayam for local body representatives and staff of the panchayats in Tirumayam, Ponnamaravathi and Arimalam unions. The meeting on September 20 morning at Aranthangi is for the representatives and staff of the panchayats in Aranthangi, Avudaiyarkoil and Manamelkudi unions. The afternoon meeting will be held at Alangudi for the panchayats in Karamabakudi and Tiruvarankulam unions.
The Collector has called upon the targeted beneficiaries to participate in the programme without fail.
