AIIMS may have pay-clinics

New Delhi: Capital’s prestigious AIIMS may soon have pay-clinics in its campus where patients would be charged for the treatment. The issue of starting pay-clinic would be discussed at a meeting of the Hospital Management Board on Wednesday, sources said. The decision is facing stiff resistance from some quarters of AIIMS itself claiming that this would lead to the commercialisation of the health care system in AIIMS. They said that it is a policy decision and hospital management is not authorised to take any such decisions.
