CHENNAI: The State unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has alleged an attempt to scuttle the Sethusamudram project, a dream of the people of Tamil Nadu.
In a statement here on Tuesday, CPI (M) State Secretary N. Varadarajan wanted all democratic forces in the State to come together to negate “evil designs of the communal forces.”
He criticised the Centre for succumbing to “pressure from communal forces,” by withdrawing the affidavit on Ramar Sethu in the Supreme Court, and seeking three months’ time to reconsider the issue.
