KCR a traitor, says Narendra

Staff Reporter

Asks TRS chief to apologise to people

Separate Telangana before general elections predicted

MP to decide on joining BSP after meeting Mayawati

Sangareddy: Former Union Minister and Medak Member of Parliament A. Narendra has asked Telanagana Rastra Samithi (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao to apologise to people of Telangana for not participating in the Telanagana Liberation Day celebrations on Monday.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the TRS break-away group leader wondered why Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had gathered lakhs of people for his mega public meetings earlier, hid himself from them on a crucial day in the struggle for Telangana.

Terming him a traitor, Mr. Narendra alleged that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao skipped the celebrations as he was worried about hurting the sentiments of a particular religious minority.

Talks with BSP

Terming the ‘Polikeka’ programme a grand success, he said that his efforts to bring all pro-Telanagana leaders under one umbrella bore fruit with the Congress Member of Parliament Madhu Yashki Goud attending the Liberation Day programme. He urged all the Congress leaders from Telangana region to unite and demand separate statehood.

Congratulating Congress leaders from Telanagana, including former Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Kesava Rao, for standing firm on their ground, he forecast formation of separate state before general elections.

Answering a question on the possibility of his joining the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Mr. Narendra said that a decision in this regard would be taken only after meeting the party’s president Mayawati in person.

He reiterated that he would not allow a feudalistic leader like Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao to hijack the true Telanagana from weaker sections.

BJP’s political game

Calling Bharatiya Janata Party ’s invitation to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao as opportunistic, Mr. Narendra felt that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, who was harping on implementation of Sachar Committee report to appease the minorities, could never join hands with the rightist party.

Explaining reasons of his exit from BJP, Mr. Narendra said that he had decided to quit after senior party leader Lal Krishna Advani shot down his private bill for Telangana.
