IT official convicted

VISAKHAPATNAM: Special Judge for CBI cases T. Bhaskara Rao on Tuesday found an Income Tax Officer of Nellore V. Bhaskara Rao guilty of accepting a bribe from an assessee and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and pay a total fine of Rs.5,000, Superintendent of Police of CBI A. Sai Manohar said in a press release here on Tuesday.

After hearing the arguments, the judge pronounced judgement, acquitting Mr. Heera Singh from the charges levelled against him.
