ESI scheme extended

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has issued final notification extending the provisions of the ESI scheme to employees of private hospitals and institutions. Employees of hospitals, nursing homes, diagnostic centres and institutions including pathological laboratories under the private sector, corporate managements, trusts and charitable institutions will come under the scheme from September 6, 2007. Such hospitals/institutions in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha, Kollam and Pathanamthitta districts and Vaikkom taluk in Kottayam district are to submit ‘Form 01’ duly filled to the Divisional Office, ESI Corporation, Kollam-21 immediately for registration under the ESI scheme. The institutions in other districts/areas (except Wayanad) are to submit the form to the Regional Office, ESI Corporation, Thrissur-20. Those who have already submitted the form need not submit again.
