Four held for killing taxi driver

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested by the South-West police on charges of murdering a taxi driver after kidnapping him.

According to the police, Sandeep along with his three friends Sonu, Manish and Rishi took a lift in a taxi near Dhaula Kuan on August 31 and later killed the driver Arjun Rajak. The four were later joined by Pradeep and Deepak and all of them drove to Hardwar.

Meanwhile, the taxi owner, Sukhbir Singh, lodged a complaint at Vasant Kunj saying that his driver had gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

The accused, who had fled to Hardwar after committing the murder, had an altercation with a tea vendor there. The car was intercepted by the police and Sandeep was arrested. When the Delhi police learnt about his arrest and the missing car, a team was sent to Uttrakhand to bring him to Delhi. Later two of his accomplice, Rishi and Pradeep, were arrested at the Sampla railway station and taxi stand. Arjun’s body and his mobile phone have been recovered.
