Corrections and clarifications

A sentence in an AP report “No more ties in U.K. hospitals” (“Newscape” page, September 18, 2007) was: “Fake nails, jewellery and watches which the department warned cold harbour germs, are also out.” “Cold” should have been “could”.

A sentence in a report “Confusion reigns supreme in Prashant Reddy case” (“Law and Order” column, Hyderabad, September 17, 2007, page 4) was: “Some investigators argue the absence of singing or scorching marks around the wound should be examined vis-À-vis nature of the firearm.” “Singing” should have been “singeing”.

Jehan Mubarak came in to bat in the 18th over with the score on 212 for five, and not 215 for six (19th over) as was reported in “Sri Lanka crushes Kenya” (“Sport”, September 15, 2007). The agency report was on a World Twenty20 cricket match.
