NHRC seeks reports from Bihar, Jharkhand

New Delhi: Taking a serious view of the recent lynching incidents in Bihar and Jharkhand, the National Human Rights Commission has sought reports from the police of the two States within four weeks.

The NHRC has sent a notice to the DGP, Bihar and SSP, Vaishali, on the lynching of 10 suspected thieves by a mob in the district, according to a release from the commission here on Tuesday.

The Commission said it raises a serious issue of human rights violation of the victims.

The Commission has asked for a factual report from the police in both Bihar and Jharkhand on the incidents within four weeks. — PTI
