NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man has been arrested at Nandnagri here by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police on charges of drug peddling. The police claim to have seized 300 gm of smack from him.
Acting on a tip-off that Om Prakash and Bijender were engaged in drug peddling, the Crime Branch sent a decoy to strike a deal with them. Om Prakash allegedly asked the decoy to receive the consignment near the Nandnagri railway tracks on Monday. Subsequently, the police laid a trap and arrested the accused with the stuff.
At his instance, they raided Bijender’s residence but his relatives offered resistance, allowing him to escape.
A hunt has been launched for Bijender.
