Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: A 10-member team from the Department of Health, Gauteng province, South Africa, is on a visit to the city as part of a project to study the public health system and medical teaching in the State. The team, led by Johanna More, director, Department of Health, Gauteng province, was welcomed by Director of Health Services T.K. Kuttamani and senior Health Department officials. Health Secretary Vishwas Mehta made a presentation on Kerala’s health scenario. Later, the team members visited Government Medical College Hospital and General Hospital. They will visit select primary and community health centres in the district and also study the universal immunisation programme, the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme and the Mental Health Programme in the State.
