Lack of facilities for houses under Indiramma scheme alleged
VIZIANAGARAM: CPI(M) cadres led by party divisional secretary Reddy Sankara Rao and district committee member T.V. Ramana picketed the municipal office on Tuesday in protest against omission of families eligible for houses under the Indiramma programme.
He also demanded appointment of teams for identification of families living in rented houses.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sankara Rao said that during the ‘Intinta Indiramma’ the officials photographed and issued possession certificates to a selected few who were identified earlier under category I of the programme and ignored those who were living in rented houses.
The picketing that began at 10 am was called off at 1.30pm after Municipal Commissioner S.S. Verma informed the CPI(M) leaders that all the beneficiaries would be photographed and issued possession certificates before the month-end and announced a list of teams appointed for each ward for completing the process.
