Girl fatally crushed

NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old girl was killed when a mini-truck overturned on her at Seelampur here on Tuesday.

Shahin, a Class IV student, was on her way to school when the mini-truck accidentally overturned at Dharampura T-point and the girl was crushed under the vehicle. Some passers-by pulled her out and took her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.

The death led to violent protests and slogan-shouting by local residents against the growing number of accidents in the area. The vehicle has been impounded and driver Anand Singh was arrested.
