NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday summoned the Municipal Commissioner on a complaint by the Court-appointed commissioner of Najafgarh Zone that the municipal authorities were resorting to discrimination in sealing of illegally sub-divided properties on Rama Road in West Delhi.
The Court passed the direction when the Court commissioner informed it that the local body had identified about 800 properties on Rama Road for sealing but it had so far sealed only 77 of them.
The Bench directed the Municipal Commissioner to appear in person before the Court on December 21.
The Bench has been hearing a petition by one of the property owners there accusing the civic body of illegally sealing her property as the property was constructed in 1970 and a part thereof post 1977 for which permission was taken from the Delhi Development Authority.
