Fresh ordinance on sealing challenged

New Delhi: An NGO on Tuesday challenged in the Supreme Court the latest ordinance brought by the Union Government to bring immunity from sealing and demolition of unauthorised constructions in the capital.

In an intervention application filed through counsel Jasbir Singh Malik, the Delhi Pradesh Citizens Council submitted that the ordinance was a move to circumvent the apex court direction for sealing of unauthorised structures not covered by the Master Plan of Delhi, 2021.
