Graft issue: TDP objects to YSR’s remarks

Staff Reporter

VIJAYAWADA: TDP official spokesperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari on Tuesday took strong objection to the Government’s reactions in the aftermath of startling allegations made by the former Vigilance Commissioner, R.C. Samal.

Addressing a press conference here, Ms. Rajakumari said instead of taking any concrete action to root out corruption, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy sought to defend the “black sheep in his Cabinet.” On the other hand, Dr. Reddy was levelling baseless allegations against TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Ms. Rajakumari termed as totally unwarranted the Chief Minister’s statement that controversies surrounding Mr. Samal now and evangelist K.A. Paul in the past were creations of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. “It shows the bankruptcy of the Chief Minister. Instead of correcting himself, the Chief Minister is making more mistakes with each crisis,” she remarked.

The TDP spokesperson lambasted the government for seeking to divide the Medical & Health Department into three units in a bid to accommodate the interests of three Ministers without realising its repercussions in future.
