Attack on house of Karunanidhi’s daughter

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Around 50 activists of the Bajrang Dal and other Hindu organisations on Tuesday attacked the Bangalore house of Tamizh Selvi, daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, and threw pamphlets to protest against his reported remarks on Lord Rama in the context of the Sethu project.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Alok Kumar, around 7.45 p.m. a group of activists stormed Ms. Selvi’s house in J.P. Nagar Police Station limits and hurled stones at her house.

Ms. Selvi and her husband, Selvam, were not in the house at the time of attack. They had left for Chennai earlier in the day. Only a maid and a security guard were present.

Security stepped up

The protesters smashed two dome lights on the compound wall and glass panes of three windows. Mr. Alok Kumar told The Hindu that security has been stepped up at Ms. Selvi’s house.
