Quake-hit hospital reconstructed

NEW DELHI: The General Hospital at Mandvi in Gujarat which was destroyed in the 2001 earthquake has been reconstructed and will be inaugurated by the Gujarat Chief Minister on Thursday. MCD Standing Committee chairman Vijender Gupta on Wednesday said: “All employees of the MCD had donated one day’s salary, amounting to Rs.401 lakh, for reconstruction of the hospital. The municipal councillors had also contributed from their funds.”
