TRS to discuss BJP’s invite

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said he will discuss with his party colleagues Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh’s invitation to TRS for a joint struggle for separate Telangana.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Rao said the TRS was against having truck with other parties as it wanted to take up activities on its own.

At the same time, it was not averse to sailing with those parties if the timing and political climate so demanded.

Asked what prevented the TRS from joining hands with BJP, Mr. Rao said people were well aware of the levels of struggle taken up by the BJP on the Telangana issue. They could distinguish between the parties that made sacrifices for Telangana and those that conducted programmes merely for their existence.

Tirade against Naidu

Mr. Rao was bitter about Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu for making a big show that a large number of TRS activists had joined the his party two days ago. He said Mr. Naidu had created a façade by admitting fake Telangana supporters.

He said Mr. Naidu would never assume the reigns of power in his lifetime if he resorted to such unprincipled politics.
