All set for Vinayaga idol immersion

Nagercoil: The district administration has geared up official machinery to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of Vinayaga procession in different parts of the district for three days from Friday (September 21), which will culminate in the immersion of the idols in Kanyakumari, Sothavilai, Chinnavilai, Sanguthurai, Vetumadai, Midalam and Thengapattinam beaches, Pallikondan dam, Thirparappu falls, Tamirabarani and Kuzuthurai rivers.

According to the police, the activists of Siva Sena will take out procession from Nagaraja Thidal and reach Kanyakumari beach viz Edalakudi and Kottaram to immerse Ganesa idols on Friday. Similarly the activists of Hindu Maha Sabha and Hindu Vazurimai Iyakkam will start the procession from Nagaraja Thidal and reach Sothavilai beach viz Thengamputhur on Saturday.

The members of Hindu Munnai and BJP will organise a massive procession from Manavalakurichi, Nagaraja Thidal, Suchindrum, Thovalai, Monday Market, Kunalumoodu, Anjukannu, Kalungu, Vaikundapuram, Cheruppalur, Melpuram and Pammam via Babuji School to reach Chinnavilai beach; Melakrishnanputhur to reach Sanguthurai beach; Aralvoimozi, Thazakudi, Erachakulam and Thittuvilai to reach Pallikondan dam; Lekshmipuram and Mandaicadu to reach Vettumadai beach; Kulasekaram and Pinanthodu to reach Thirparappu falls; Maruthancode and Kuzuthurai to reach Tamirabarani River and Marthandam and Vettuvanthi to reach Kuzuthurai river respectively to immerse Ganesa idols on Sunday.

Moreover the activists of Sam Mukharji Trust will take out procession from Parvathipuram and reach Kanyakumari beach on Sunday.
