Government urged to take over FACT

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Trade unions at Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) have called on the State government to consider taking the company into its fold, if the Union government does not consider the facts of the situation regarding a special dispensation package being sought for the company.

Trade union leader and MP K. Chandran Pillai has refuted objections raised by the Union Finance Ministry to the special dispensation package and said that FACT was an important organisation for the whole of Kerala and that all possible support would have to be extended to the company for its sustained growth and development.

He described the Finance Ministry’s observations on the special dispensation package as yet another attempt to thwart a survival package for the public sector company.
