Big win for Arulanandar

Madurai: Arulanandar College posted a big 4-0 victory over HKRH College, Uthamapalayam in the Madurai Kamaraj University ‘C’ zone inter-collegiate football tournament here on Wednesday.

The results:

Arulanandar College 4 (Charles, Vinoth Kumar, Paulose Marandi 2) bt HKRH College (Uthamapalayam) 0; Theni Arts and Science College 3 (Madhan Kumar, Ranjith Kumar, Silambarasan)bt RJMC College (Ottanchatram) 0; Rama Praba College (Dindigul) 2 (Saravanan, Simon) bt Arulmigu Palani Anadavar Arts College (Palani) 0.

TCE claims title

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (Madurai) won the title defeating PSNA College of Engineering (Dindigul) 3-2 in the final of the Anna University zone IX inter-collegiate women’s table tennis tournament at Vikram College of Engineering campus, Madurai on Tuesday.

The result (final): TCE bt PSNA CE 3-2 (Rippu Gupta bt Bhumika 11-3, 11-4, 11-2; Anandy lost to Ishore Rai 5-11, 8-11, 3-11; Poornima lost to Ruby 11-8, 9-11, 7-11, 10-12; Rippu Gupta bt Ishore Rai 11-1, 11-4, 11-4; Anandy bt Bhumika 11-9, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6).

Inter-district throwball

The fifth Tamil Nadu State senior inter-district throwball championship will be held at Velammal Matriculation HSS ground, Madurai from September 23 to 25.

Volleyball tournament

The Virudhunagar District inter-collegiate (women’s) volleyball championship will be conducted jointly by Virudhunagar District Volleyball Association and Rotary Club of Pyrocity at AMSG Vijaya Kumar Volleyball Academy ground, Sivakasi on September 22. Contact P.S. Babu, Ph: 98433-24523.

Inter-collegiate kabaddi

The Bharathiar University inter-collegiate kabaddi tournament for women, organised by the Kongunadu Arts and Science College, will be held at the College premises on September 20.
