17 papers rejected in Chitradurga district

Chitradurga: Out of 907 applications received in the district on Monday for elections to the urban local bodies, 17 nominations have been rejected. The elections will be held on September 28 for 142 wards in the district.

As many as 263 candidates had submitted their nomination papers for election to 35 wards in Chitradurga city, of which five have been rejected.

For elections to the 27 wards of Challakere taluk, 121 nominations had been received, of which two have been rejected. In Hiriyur, of the 148 nomination papers received four were rejected.
