KPTCL collects Rs. 5.57 cr fine
BANGALORE: Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd., (KPTCL) has collected Rs. 5.57 crore fine this year by detecting theft of power. So far, 34,486 installations were inspected by the vigilance wing of the corporation and cases were booked against 3,832 installations and fine was collected, KPTCL managing director Bharat Lal Meena said. Some of the major theft cases included two plastic factories in Agara in Bangalore who paid a fine of Rs. 5.58 lakh and Rs. 17.59 lakh respectively and a cold drink store in Gadag which paid a fine of Rs. 2.51 lakh. — Staff Reporter
