GUNTUR: State Bank of India, Guntur, has launched sale of gold coins at a function held at Kammavarithota here.
Guntur-II MLA T. Venkat Rao, Deputy General Manager of SBI K.S. Subramaniyam and Assistant General Manager D. Indu Sekhar were present.
Three models
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sekhar said that gold coins were released in three models – 2 grams, 5 grams and 10 grams and asked the people to avail themselves of the opportunity.
Vermi culture unit
Andhra Bank Assistant General Manager H. Seshagiri Rao launched a vermi culture unit at Ankireddypalem.
He said that the bank would continue to support agriculture allied activities like dairy farming, aquaculture, nurseries and horticulture.
Formally launching the activity on Tuesday, he said that the use of vermicompost would enrich the soil and restore the environmental balance.
Horticulture Department Assistant Director Madhusudhana Reddy said that both the Centre and the State Governments were suggesting increasing the use of bio fertilisers to 15. Sri Vermi Culture Unit MD Kuchipudi Rama Rao was present.
