Advani foresees political change at national level
Staff Reporter
TIRUNELVELI: Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani on Wednesday foresaw a political change at the national level and appealed to the party workers to be prepared for early polls to the Lok Sabha.
Addressing a public meeting on the V.O.C. Grounds, Palayamkottai, Mr. Advani recalled how the Allahabad High Court verdict against former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s election to the Parliament from Rae Barelli constituency and the victory of the Janata Front in Gujarat brought about radical changes in the country’s politics.
He said the Left parties opposition to India’s nuclear pact with the United States and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s attempts to destroy Ramar Sethu would bring about a change in the Indian politics in near future.
Future predictions
A new Lok Sabha might be formed by early 2008, Mr. Advani predicted. He said the National Democratic Alliance government, which had conducted nuclear explosions despite pressure from the US, was fully prepared to take on the sanctions imposed by it.
