City theatres: to go or not to go
Many film makers lament these days that not enough people come to theatres to watch movies. A main factor contributing to the dwindling number of theatregoers is the dilapidated condition of many theatres. In many theatres in the capital city the seats are horribly cramped and many are broken. However good the movie may be, spending two hours on these seats is a daunting proposition.
The attention of the audience is often split between what happens on screen and the rats and cockroaches that keep scurrying beneath the seats.
Little wonder then that all but the most hardened of fans prefer to watch movies in the comfort of their homes.
