Urges officials to complete projects as per schedule
PERAMBALUR: Officials should execute rural development works, particularly those sanctioned under ‘Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam’ (AGAMT) without any delay, the District Collector, Anil Meshram, said.
Addressing officials after inspecting works being implemented under the scheme in Veppanthattai block near here on Thursday, the Collector said that each village had been sanctioned Rs. 20 lakh. As these works aimed at providing basic amenities by strengthening infrastructure in villages, officials should attach top priority to eliminate problems caused by time over-run. Officials must draw up a schedule for each work and ensure its completion before the deadline.
Earlier, accompanied by the Block Development Officers, Pandurangan and Ganapathy Subramanian, the Collector inspected the work on desilting of channels of Karunkulam in Malayalapatti village panchayat, and construction of group houses for 15 beneficiaries identified under Indira Awaj Yojana.
Later, he inspected work on re-laying of Athur Road for a stretch of two km between Veppanthattai and Annamangalam, being executed by the Highways Department on an outlay of Rs.15 lakh.
