BJP promises potable water

Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE: The Bharatiya Janata Party has promised to provide potable water on a daily basis to citizens of Davangere and public toilets at different places, particularly near bus stands and railway stations, and set up sodium lights all over the city if it comes to power in the Davangere City Corporation in the ensuing elections.

Releasing the party’s manifesto here on Thursday, G.S.A. Ravindranath, Minister for Sugar and Rural Water Supply, and M. Siddeshwar, MP and vice-president of the State unit of the party, said that the party had plans to improve the drainage system in the city and also to set up a solid waste treatment plant here.

A treatment plant to treat and recycle waste water would also be set up, they said.
