ANANTAPUR: Official spokesperson of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and party observer Kodela Sivaprasada Rao has asked the leaders of the party in the district to set aside differences among them, and work in tandem to get closer to the people. He also suggested them to plan the party programmes and protests based on local problems to get better results. Speaking at the party’s district unit general body meeting here on Thursday the former minister said that there was every likelihood of mid-term polls to Lok Sabha early next year and asked the leaders and party workers to be prepared for the ballot test. The TDP would also bounce back to power in the State in the next elections as discontentment of the people against the Congress Government was mounting fast, he claimed. Resorting to corruptionHe alleged that the Congress Government was resorting to large-scale irregularities and corruption in the welfare and development programmes. He asked the party leaders to plan protests on the local problems to get the people identified with the party and it would yield better results in building up better mass support. He also suggested the leaders not to neglect the workers. Reviewing performanceEarlier, he reviewed the performance of the party in all the 14 assembly constituencies by talking to the leaders concerned. He sought to know about the party programmes being taken up, response of the people and response of the minorities in Anantapur, Kadiri and Hindupur towns. District president of the party V. Hanumantharaya Chowdary, legislators B.C. Govindappa, P. Sunita, P. Ranganayakulu and M. Govinda Reddy, party leaders K. M. Saifullah, P. Shamathakamani, N. Kistappa, K. Jayaram, P. Nagi Reddy, K.C. Narayana, K. Venkata Prasad and others attended.
