Excess fee: private medical colleges warned

Staff Reporter

PUDUCHERRY: In the wake of complaints from parents of students studying in private medical colleges, Health Minister E. Valsaraj on Thursday warned the college managements of strict action if they charged excess fee.

Mr. Valsaraj held a meeting with representatives of the private medical college managements and explained to them the nature of complaints received against a few private colleges.

“We have requested them to stick to the fee structure fixed by the Fee Committee. We have also directed the colleges to return the excess fee,” he said.

He also warned of stringent action against those colleges which indulged in collection of higher fee.
