Move to remove encroachments on State lands

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked Collectors to remove encroachments on Government lands in the State made by political parties.

He has directed them to provide permanent protection to valuable urban lands by erecting fences after clearing the encroachments by taking police help, if necessary. Funds required for this “could be drawn from the Chief Commissioner, Land Administration or the Revenue Secretary.

Mr.YSR’s directive comes against the backdrop of the decision taken by the CPI(M) and the CPI to intensify their ongoing land struggle by entering new areas.
