Do not succumb to pressure: CPI

NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Thursday deplored the “continuous pressure” mounted by the U.S. administration on the UPA government to finalise the civilian nuclear deal. It urged the government not to succumb to pressure.

In a statement here, the CPI central secretariat reacted strongly to the statement by U.S. Ambassador to India David Mulford, who “virtually laid out a timetable for the finalisation of the nuclear deal, asking the UPA government to take the last steps.”
