Life term in massacre case

PATNA: The Aurangabad district and sessions court on Thursday awarded life imprisonment to nine members of the Ranbir Sena, the private army of feudal landlords, for massacring 34 Dalits in Miapur village of the district on June 16.

Additional District and Sessions Judge K.K. Dwivedi, however, acquitted two others for lack of evidence.

Two other accused continue to abscond while another died in course of the trial.
