UPASI gets new office bearers

KOLKATA: C. P. Kariappa and D. P. Maheshwari have been elected President and Vice-President respectively of the United Planters’ Association of Southern India for 2007-08. Their term begins from this month coinciding with the UPASI annual conference. Mr. Kariappa is a proprietary coffee planter of Kambihalli Estate in Chikmagalur in Karnataka, and Mr. Maheshwari is senior president of B. K. Birla group company, Jayshree Tea & Industries, say UPASI sources. — Special Correspondent
